जौनपुरी  राग को आसावरी ठाट से उपजा हुआ राग माना गया है. इस राग में ग , ध, नी स्वर कोमल लगते हैं . आरोह में ग (गंधार )  वर्ज्य है अर्थात गाते बजाते समय आरोह में ग  स्वर को छोड़ देते हैं. अवरोह में सातों स्वर प्रयोग किये जाते हैं. अतः इस राग की जाती षाडव-संपूर्ण  है. जौनपुरी राग का वादी स्वर ध (धैवत )और संवादी स्वर ग (गंधार) है. इस राग के गाने बजाने का समय दिन का दूसरा प्रहर है .
